Teen 'damaged €500 bus glass'
November 05 2009
A Dublin teenager charged with vandalising a bus has been remanded on bail.
The 17-year-old boy was charged with causing €500 worth of damage to a window on a Dublin Bus at the Old Cabra Road, in Dublin, on October 23 last.
He is facing a second charge for €300 worth of criminal damage to a bus stop on the same date.
Judge Bryan Smyth heard at the Dublin Children's Court that the boy, who was accompanied to his case by his mother, made no reply to caution. The teenager was remanded on bail to appear again next month when he is to enter a plea.
Boy (16) swore at a garda
A TEENAGER who verbally abused a garda when he was cautioned to move on, has been spared a criminal conviction after he paid €50 to charity.
The 16-year-old boy was found guilty of a breach of the peace at Russell Street, in Dublin 1, on June 13 last.
The Dublin Children's Court heard the boy had been warned to move from the street when he began swearing.
Judge Bryan Smyth applied the Probation Offenders' Act after the teen, who was accompanied by his mother, brought €50 to court to be donated to the Garda Benevolent Fund.
